Abstract : Now a day’s two technologies big data and cloud computing are huge in demand. Both of these technologies have vast number of advantages. Advantages of big data are fast and better decision making, new product and services, product recommendation, fraud detection etc. Advantages of cloud computing are easily access, fast deployment and ease of integrity, scalability and elasticity, resiliency and redundancy, increase storage capacity, cost reduction etc. To deploy big data on cloud computing contains various advantages like on demand self services, data and information over the net, resource pooling, rapid elasticity, cost benefit etc. Although there are many benefits by deploying big data on cloud computing it has various challenges too like data quality, security and privacy, data storage, service delivery and billing, interoperability and portability, reliability and availability, performance and bandwidth cost etc. Every day many organizations generate huge amount of data using various sources like log files, CCTV coverage, customer feedback, YouTube, financial system etc. to handle this data along with security and privacy of data is big task. Traditional security mechanisms using encryption are neither efficient nor suitable to protect big data in cloud computing environment. In this research work we plan to design and develop an algorithm to secure big data in cloud computing environment.
